Earlene Tamar Dawn
March 28, 1938 – May 1, 2022
Earlene Tamar Dawn was born March 28, 1938 in Camden, Arkansas to Alma White and Edgar Williams. Earlene attended all of her schooling in Amy, Arkansas at Union Grove School. Upon graduating high school, Earlene married William Junior Dawn and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1955, where they would spend 60 years in holy matrimony. To this union, three boys were born, William, Larry and Jimmy.
Having accepted Christ at an early age, Earlene joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church after moving to Dallas and then moved her membership to Community Baptist Church. Her final transition was to Jordan Missionary Baptist Church, under the tutelage of the late Rev. R. M. Robertson, where she was dedicated and committed for over 40 years until her health began to fail.
It should be of no surprise that Earlene sang in the choir in all three churches. She definitely was not a bench warmer! In addition to being a songbird, she was a part of the Mission Board, Finance Committee and spearheaded lots of Anniversary and annual services for the church.
Earlene was gainfully employed with Allstate Insurance Company where she would retire after 27 years, only to work part-time for six additional years.
Earlene loved FAMILY and FRIENDS! From cooking her famous chicken and dumplings and German Chocolate cake, to hosting her annual Easter Egg Hunt at Glendale Park, to collecting dollar bills to give to her grands for Christmas, Earlene, wouldn’t miss a beat. She loved to travel, and go hunting and fishing with her late husband “Junior”. And ohhh her bestfriends of the Ladies Night Out (LNO), who would dress up in their red jackets for a night out on the town. Yes, Earlene was a bit of a show-stopper too!
Earlene, our precious jewel, was called home to rest on May 1st, 2022. She will always be loved and remembered for her humble spirit, generous heart and giving, and the love of her family.
She unites in glory with her parents, her husband, sisters, brothers, her beloved son (William Kenneth Dawn) and her beloved grandson (Brad Dawn).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.laurellanddallas.com for the Dawn family.
