Born in Victoria de las Tunas, Cuba, in 1938, Dulce and her beloved husband of 60 years, Roman, witnessed the brutality and injustice of Communist Cuba. In 1968, they made the bold decision to uproot their family in pursuit of the dream of freedom in the United States.
The family flourished in Texas, and Dulce found peace and contentment in the simple pleasures of life: her three children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She cherished recalling fond stories from her beloved family, baking her cakes, sewing, and gathering with family as often as possible. Dulce was an artist in her own right taking ceramic classes and creating the most beautiful figurines as a hobby. She attended Wilton Baking school, and her Cuban-inspired specialty cakes were in high demand among the community. Dulce was the epitome of a woman who loved to serve and found joy in helping others. The greatest loves of her life were her family and her strong and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dulce was a true Christian in her beliefs, words, and actions. Her family meant the world to her – from the pride she took in her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments, her emotional and financial support for the relatives left behind in Cuba, to her deep love for her husband and soulmate, Roman. Hers was a life well lived, and she will be greatly missed.
Dulce was the youngest of 13 children. She was preceded in death by eleven dear brothers and sisters and her beloved husband, Roman. Dulce is survived by her children Martha, Gilda, and Frank; her grandchildren Kristina, Natasha, Michael, Jeremy, Romancito, Brianna, and Stephan; her pride and joy, great-grandchildren Sophia, Stephan, Daniel, Nolan and Raegan; and sister Maria Rosales.
Services will be held on Friday, January 31st, at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service.
