“Trevor” Duane Faye Henley, III, 26, our beautiful boy, went to Heaven on September 12, 2021. Trevor was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 10th, 1995, to Duane Henley, Jr. and Amy Henley Williams. Trevor, an affectionate brother and son, an enthusiastic artist, and a passionate animal lover, had a kind nature which greatly impacted all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Trevor’s family was the most important relationship in his life and his primary source of happiness. As an older brother to Georgia (24) and Lily (20), Trevor was always a protector. He loved his sisters with his entire heart and sought to make them as proud of him as he was of them. Trevor cherished his parents and loved spending time with them. One of his favorite things was to play chess with his dad, earning bragging rights by winning every game over the past decade. The two also loved watching movies and home videos while having pizza nights at Duane’s and Jennifer’s house. Trevor absolutely adored his mom. Their relationship went beyond mother and son; the two were very best friends. If they weren’t spending time together, they were speaking on the phone or updating one another with pictures. Trevor and his family shared an unspeakable bond that is, even in death, unbreakable.
From a young age, Trevor displayed an unmatched compassion for animals, which he inherited from his mom. The two treated their animals like humans, if not higher, always bringing home new four-legged friends and, several times, snakes. He saw himself a chosen father to his two cats, DJ and Jax. When he had free time, he loved going to the SPCA with his mom to play with animals, always struggling to leave them behind when it was time to go.
Art was Trevor’s passion, another attribute he was lucky to inherit from his mother. He was always a talented artist, even having a brief brush of fame as a movie star in his youth, but had turned his paintings into a true craft in the final years of his life. Though working across various mediums, his acrylic on canvas works were where he truly reached his full potential.
Trevor struggled with a drug addiction. He was one of the many victims of addiction that often goes unspoken, but addiction does not define how he will be remembered. Trevor loved Jesus and will be remembered as the kind, compassionate, devoted Christian he was. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The Magdalen House of Dallas, Texas, or the SPCA of Dallas, Texas.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 20th, at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. Trevor loved bright and happy colors, please wear whatever color you want.
Trevor is survived by his parents Amy Henley Williams and Duane Henley, Jr., his sisters Georgia and Lily Henley, his step-parents Bruce Williams and Jennifer Henley, his grandmother Mary Lou O’Brien, his aunt and uncles, Jeff and Marla Henley, Todd and Julie Rufner, Paul and Glenetta Henley, Lyn and Monty Walters , Laura and Pete Quigley, Mark O’Brien, and Kevin O’Brien, and his cousins, Jeff and Erin Henley, Allyson Kurak, Shelby Henley, Haley Brown, Connor O’Brien, Taylor Vesey, Abigale and Pierce Quigley, and Kalene O’Brien, as well as many others that loved him dearly.
