Dorothy Wooten Ray Another angel has passed away on Dec. 21 at Charlton Hospital in Dallas. Dorothy Wooten Ray was 84. An inspiration to us all, she started working at the age of 14 and continued to work until the age of 83, only when the doctors ordered her to stop. However, this did not stop her from helping others. She was still preparing meals for people that could not help themselves. Dorothy was a mother figure to so many, from a young child until her passing. She was a devoted Christian, who taught Sunday school for 50 years. She helped so many learn the true meaning of being a Christian. Dorothy was surpassed in death by her husband, Lonnie Ray; daughter, Connie Cox; son, Rickie Ray; and baby brother, Billy Wooten. She is survived by two sisters, Ruby Mosley, Katharine Bullock; brother, Harold Wooten; grandson, Chris Ray; granddaughters, Tammie Ray Hatch, Kimberly Davis, Sarah Lee; great-grandchildren, Bradleigh Ray, Jase Davis, Lannie Payton, Holly Lee, and one on the way. Dorothy was beloved by so many and will be greatly missed. God has truly brought home one of his angels and we know she is smiling upon us now. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec.28, 2014 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:15 p.m. Dec. 29, 2014 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel with interment to follow.
