Dorothy's spirit left this world on August 14, 2014, to be reunited with the ones she loved that preceded her, and she will wait patiently for the rest of her beloved family and friends to join her one day. She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on August 13, 1923. As a child, she and her family moved extensively, living in Indiana and Michigan. She graduated from high school in Greenwood, IN and after graduation, married William R. Kinnick. They first resided in Indianapolis, the moved to Shelbyville, and finally to Greenfield, IN. The marriage ended in divorce in 1976. Dorothy was a wonderful, loving mother to her four children, and she truly enjoyed seeing them grow to adulthood. Dorothy also had a special loving relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with each one. She possessed an amazing personality that enabled her to make new friends easily throughout her life. She also had an artistic talent and enjoyed flower arranging, painting, and sketching. Most of all, she enjoyed the company of her family and friends and having long conversations with them. In 1996 she moved from Indianapolis, IN to Montrose, CO to be near her son and daughter in-law. Last summer she moved to Plano, TX to live with her daughter and son in-law. Over the last several months she suffered with multiple health issues prior to her passing. She will truly be missed by her family and friends as she has left us all with years of fond memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy E. Hirons and Elwin F. Hirons, brother Elwin F. Hirons Jr., and son William R. Kinnick Jr. She is survived by daughter Pat Myer (Dwain) Plano, TX, sons Wayne (Kerry) Albuquerque, NM and Larry (Wendi Hurst) of Ft. Collins, CO. Grandchildren include Lisa Werst (Stephen) Allen, TX, Jeff Myer Columbus, OH, Gannon Kinnick (Nicole) Daleville, IN, Kelley Stewart (Mark) Middletown, IN and Katharine Kinnick Baltimore, MD. And nine great grandchildren. Grand dogs: Stacy, her self-proclaimed best friend, Nugget and Dente.
