She married the love of her life on November 22, 1947.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Irvin Dunn; one grandson, Scott Hixon; two sisters, Jeanette McBay and Doris Smith and one brother, Bud Graham.
She is survived by one daughter and son in law, Vicki and Bobby Cross, one son and daughter and law, Phillip and Vickie Dunn; three grandchildren, Cody Hixon, Chris Dunn and Kori Dunn; two great grandchildren, Elise Hixon and Landon Dunn and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She lived 63 years in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas and was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church.
Dorothy loved people. She always enjoyed having family and friends in her home, sharing a meal and laughing at the funny stories they shared.
She had a servant's heart. On three different occasions she volunteered to be the caregiver for a friend. Her final caregiving responsibility was taking care of her husband as she journeyed with him through his final days.
Her life was a living testimony of God's goodness, grace and mercy. Ephesians 5:1-2 describes her very well - "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us..."
Although she will be missed by her family and friends, we know she is enjoying Heaven today and strolling down the streets of Gold with her Lord and her loved ones who went before her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the American Cancer Society or the Make A Wish Foundation.
