Dorothy Juanita Beckham

Dorothy Juanita Beckham, 80, passed away on Monday August 18, 2014 at her residence in Farmers Branch, surrounded by her loved ones. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her.

She was born in Bosque, Texas on December 21, 1933 to J. W. and Rosa Mae Hudson. She goes now to be with the love of her life Earnest “Turk” Beckham and their grandson Daniel Beckham. Dorothy was a graduate of Forest Avenue High School. She loved hunting and fishing with her husband Turk and son Ernie Jr and later with her grandsons Danny and Michael. She was well loved by her many friends and neighbors and was a regular volunteer at local hospitals and charity organizations. She was especially proud of her great-granddaughters and was happiest in their company. She was a loving and kind person to all who met her. She made everyone feel welcome, and her home was a sanctuary to many. She was everyone’s Nana.

Survivors include her son, Earnest Beckham Jr and his wife Teresa of Farmers Branch, TX and their children Amy, Abbey and Lilly; grandson Michael Beckham and his wife Andrea and their children Summer, Madeleine, Isabelle and Sebastian; brother Jimmy Hudson and his wife Dorothy; brother in law Doyle Beckham and his wife Juanell. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers J A and Donnie Hudson, husband Earnest J Beckham Sr and grandson Daniel Beckham.

A Funeral Service will be at 9:00 am on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel East, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Sparkman/Hillcrest.
