Don to his coworkers and Fred to his close family and friends, passed away in the early morning hours of June 13, 2019. He made many friends, including his “office-buddy” Lucille Buchanan, during his 32-year career with American Airlines, which began on October 29, 1986. Don was a voracious reader who loved to travel. He recently visited Hong Kong with his nephew Chance and Cincinnati and Kansas City to watch his niece Kelsey play volleyball. He also traveled the world collecting artist teddy bears, rabbits, and elephants. His musical taste spanned all genres and he still enjoyed listening to music on his iPod. His quick wit and honesty will be sorely missed by those closest to him, especially Lisa and Howard Milner, and Carla Wood. Our gratitude goes out to Dr. Stockton Roberts, Dr. Steve Perkins, Dr. Sam Finn and countless others who cared for and helped him manage his illness over the years. Even though there will be fewer trips to the Lego Store and Pixar Movie Premiers, Donald Fred Mills’ Legacy will live on through the joys he brought to this world. Along with his mementos such as vibrant needle point Christmas stockings and incredible eBay finds. He was preceded in death by his mother Fredeane Alyce Burch and his grandparents Fred and Opal Burch. He is survived by his sister Melissa D Mulligan and her husband Robert S. Mulligan, his nephew Patrick Sean Chance Mulligan and his niece Kelsey Shea Mulligan.
Go to a movie, read a book, don’t forget to vote and be kind- That’s what Fred would want!
