DONALD RAY COLLINS III, KNOWN AFFECTIONATELY AS TRE, DUCKY, AND HONNEYBUN, WAS BORN ON OCTOBER 30, 1997 IN PLANO, TEXAS. TRE WAS A BEACON OF LIGHT IN THE LIVES OF HIS PARENTS, DONALD AND JUAN COLLINS,AND HIS SIBLINGS NIA, ALEX AND RAY. HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS GRANDPARENTS, DONALD & MAMIE COLLINS. DONALD DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON AUGUST 12, 2023 STILL SERVING. HE LEAVES BEHIND TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY:WIFE, ELIZABETH (LIZZIE), DAUGHTER, NOLA, GRANDPARENTS, DWIGHT HARVEY AND GERALDINE DAVIS, AND A HOST OF UNCLES, AUNTS, COUSINS, NEPHEWS,NIECES, CHURCH FAMILY & FRIENDS.
A GRADUATE OF NORTH MESQUITE HIGH SCHOOL, TRE WAS KNOWN FOR HIS BOUNDLESS ENTHUSIASM. TRE’S KINDNESS WAS A REFLECTION OF HIS GENEROUS AND COMPASSIONATE SPIRIT, ALWAYS WILLING TO LEND A HELPING HAND. HE HAD A PASSION FOR ALL SPORTS INVOLVING A BALL.
TRE’S FAITH WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF HIS LIFE. HE ACCEPTED CHRIST AS HIS SAVIOR AT THE AGE OF 6 YEARS OLD. FROM A YOUNG AGE, HE WAS SERIOUS ABOUT SERVING. IT WAS THROUGH HIS INVOLVEMENT WITH A CHRISTIAN YOUTH GROUP THAT HE MET THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE, LIZZIE. WINNING HER HEART WASN’T EASY, BUT HE WAS DETERMINED. THROUGH COUNTLESS CHIVALROUS ACTS,PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE, IT WAS A GAME OF DODGEBALL THAT WOULD SOFTEN HER HEART. HE AND LIZZIE WOULD GO ON TO MARRY IN MAY OF 2018 AND HAVE THEIR DAUGHTER, NOLA, IN AUGUST OF 2020.
TRE ALSO SERVED HIS COUNTRY WITH DISTINCTION AS A MEMBER OF THE US MARINE CORPS. HE SERVED FOR 5 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS, RECEIVING 4 MEDALS AND 4 RIBBONS. HIS DEDICATION TO DUTY, SACRIFICE, AND COMMITMENT TO PROTECTING THE FREEDOMS WE HOLD DEAR WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED.
TRE’S DEPARTURE LEAVES A VOID THAT CAN NEVER BE FILLED. AS WE GRIEVE HIS PHYSICAL ABSENCE, WE HOLD ONTO THE JOY HE SHARED, KNOWING HE IS AT PEACE IN THE EMBRACE OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER.
