He grew up in the Rockdale, Cameron and Waco area. Later they moved to Bentonville, Arkansas where he graduated from High School. After graduating from High School he went into the military and served during the Korean War as an Army Medic.
His first job after returning home was working for the Coca-Cola Company as a route salesman. He also was in the Beauty Supply Sales and that is where he met the love of his life, Robbie Bollinger. In 1968 the family moved to Dallas, Texas and he was the manager for Bollinger Mobile Homes. In the 70’s he started his own Mobile Home business / Affordable Mobile Homes in Texas and Louisiana. Don also worked in the Real Estate business; Don and Robbie also had their own restaurant and catering business. After retirement he went to work for Bollinger Industries in Grand Prairie, Texas.
He is survived by three daughters, Dianna Gilbert and husband, Ron, of Dublin, Georgia, Cindy Sabatini and husband Larry of Toni Town, Arkansas, Linda Staub and husband John, of Garland, Texas, seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife Robbie Julia Bollinger, his parents, five brothers and sisters and two grandsons.
