Sis Diann Thomas Barnett was born in Dallas, Texas on March 14, 1955, to Raymond C. Thomas (Ennis, TX) and Celestene (Spencer) Thomas (Wills Point, TX). Diann was the middle daughter of their union, coming after sister Joyce Denise Thomas (Houston, TX) and before sister Tammie Thomas Quinn (Stone Mountain, GA). Joe W. Spencer Sr. (Plano, TX) the oldest.
Diann was a single parent of her only daughter LeMonshey Deshet Thomas and born to Shey was Zoey and Keliah Thomas-Browne (her granddaughters).
She met Dea. Lonnie Eugene Barnett at Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church, and they married August 3, 1991. Through this union she gained 3 bonus daughters, Jeana (Oklahoma, OK). Tawainiece and Stacey Barnett. She also gained two special loving grandsons that she and Lonnie raised together until his death May 23, 2014, Lynn Mays and Abilly’on (Jeremiah) Barnett. They remain her pride and joy.
She received her educational direction through the Dallas Independent School District. In 1973 she graduated from South Oak Cliff High School.
She started her career in data entry and computer processing. She moved into HR with Valor within the last few years. She touched her co-worker’s lives with her wisdom and smile, even while she was in the hospital. In the hospital she wanted to know “Has anyone watered the plants” at work?
Diann began her early walk with Christ at Golden Gate Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. C.B.T. Smith. She continued under the leadership of Pastor Vincent T. Parker. At Golden Gate Diann was a member CDM (Children's Discipleship Ministry), the Prayer Team, the Furnace Team, the Deaconess Ministry, the Courtesy Committee, the Sunday School department, and her beloved Pearlie Mae Adams Small group.
Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond C. Thomas, Celestene Thomas, husband Lonnie Barnett and bonus daughter Tawainiece Barnett.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, LeMonshey Thomas (Dallas), daughter Jeana Barnett (OKC), special grandsons, Lynn Mays (Odessa) and Jeremiah (Dallas). Siblings and friends. But she also leaves her special Auntie, Darlyne Spencer.
