Diane was born in Buffalo, New York and graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and a Minor in Math. She taught Physical Education, Math, and Science for many years in New York and California.
While in California, Diane met and married Vincent after a short courtship in 1968. Soon thereafter, Diane and Vincent moved to Dallas, Texas and started their family. Diane, with her family, was an avid traveler, taking trips to places such as Alaska and Italy. She was a dedicated mother, always willing to sacrifice herself and her time to get her kids to multiple activities and sports events in any given day, always on time. Her passion for photography made her rarely leave home without a camera in tow and the thousands of pictures stand as a documentary to her life and wonderful successes.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Stephanie and Edward Norman. She is survived by her husband Vincent Scottino, a son Ty Scottino (Mitzi Scottino), two daughters Tara Scottino (Chad Vanderbeek) and Lia Scottino (Loren Smith), one grandson Peyton Scottino, and a sister Pamela Byers (Bill Byers). A viewing and rosary service will be held on Friday, September 17, from 6-8 PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 1 PM. Both services will be held at Cavalry Hill Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas.
The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to further research and support of a cure for PSP. Friends and family may make donations in memory of Diane at give.psp.org or by calling 800-457-4777.
