The Reverend Diana Marie Heath, age 79, passed away September 7, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. Rev. Heath was born November 10, 1941 in Hollywood, L.A. C.A., to Mildred and George Heath Sr. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from Hillcrest High School, the University of Oklahoma, and Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.
Diana’s hobbies included travel, cooking and music. She loved visiting France, England, Mexico, Brazil, Canada and Alaska. She was a trained French chef from Le Cordon Bleu College of Cul-inary School and taught classes for more than 20 years. She played the piano and was an opera enthusiast.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mildred Morrison Heath and George Francis Heath; her husband the Reverend Dr. William J. Metzger; her sister Martha Heath Holland; and her grand-daughter Natalie Marie Meine.
She is survived by sisters Georgia Heath Linam, Cheri Heath Fuller, Marilyn Heath Morgan; brother George F. Heath Jr.; daughters Judith Tiller Meine, Wynne Tiller Terlizzi, Anne-Marie Niemeck Miller, Jennifer Niemeck, and their spouses; grandchildren James Tiller, Clint Meine, Matthew Meine, Nico Terlizzi, Elona Terlizzi, Gio Terlizzi, Madison Miller, Ryan Miller, William Miller, Sara Natasha Luz, Darius Georgaras; and great grand-daughter Amelia Marie Tiller.
She was close with many nephews, nieces, and cousins of her large extended family which she credited for providing grounding from her long service as an accredited Interim Minister, serving 13 interims and 4 settled ministries.
A memorial service for Rev. Heath will be held at First Unitarian Church of Dallas on October 9.
