Born April 4, 1930 in Johnson County Texas to Jim and Addie Hardin. Dessie grew up in Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas from 1935 to 1949. She married the love of her life, Wayne Hamrick, in 1950. They met as children in Buckner and sort of grew up together. It was hard to separate them.
Dessie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.
She loved her church and her church friends.
She is survived by her son Gordon Hamrick and his wife Regina, her grand daughter Kelley Fontenot, her husband TJ and her great grand daughter Lyla Leona Fontenot She is also survived by granddaughters Catherine Hamrick and Jenifer Estrada and her husband Jeff.
Dessie is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Hamrick and son Doyle Hamrick. Her twin brother Jessie Wray, brothers Virgil Marion, Frankie Delano, Paul William, Glen & Francis O’Dell (Buster), and her sisters Gladys & Lulumay.
