This is my story; I was born on the Fourth of August Nineteen-hundred-seventh two, the year of our Lord to Samuel Spencer and Peggy Spencer (Brown) in the city of Dallas, Texas. To this union, I was the only child born. A proud product of Dallas Public Schools and graduate of H. Grady Spruce High School, I understood that for me to accomplish my goals in life I would have to continue my education. A decision was made to attend, conquer and graduate from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service obtaining my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service. My apprenticeship had begun at Evergreen Funeral Home and progressed to a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Shortly after becoming licensed, I accepted a position with Restland Funeral Home. After enjoying my time there, I decided to transfer within the company to Laurel Land Funeral Home where I spent 8 wonderful years. Working hard allowed me to rise on my feet and have things in life that I could call my own. That wasn’t enough, so I decided to go to nursing school and graduate from Blatt College of Nursing in Dallas, Texas graduating in the top 5% of my class. I would enjoy the company of my family, friends, play daughters and sons when they came from different areas to visit me. During holiday times, I would be invited to different families’ homes to enjoy delicious feasts. Besides the fact I love to eat! I’ve been blessed with a victorious life filled with loved ones and precious memories. I thank my Heavenly Father for placing people in my life that cared for me. So much love has been given to me, and I am grateful. Time has come for me to lay down my sword, shield, and take off my running shoes. I have finished my course, I fought a courageous battle and now I must go. Don’t weep for me, for I am at peace resting in the bosom of my Savior. I know it can be difficult to say goodbye, but I ask you to hold onto God’s unchanging hands until we meet again. Nearing the end of my earthly life, even though it was difficult, I held my head high. The battle is over, and I claim victory. I leave to cherish always and forever in their hearts: My beautiful daughters; Maszolliin, Tzli and Jazarayia, mother; Peggie, father; Samuel, brother; Samuel Jr, all of my loving aunts, uncles, cousins, best friend Angelia, and coworker Christopher. I am looking down smiling at everyone but a bigger smile at my Special Friend “MY PUMPKIN”. Bye Neighborhood Friends.
