Ms. Delores Faye Shedd was born October 24, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to the union of Melvin and Ethel Shedd. She received her formal education from Albert Sidney Johnston Elementary School and was a proud graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Class of 1970. She went on to further her education at El Centro College and North Texas State University for Physical Education. She joined the military where she served 20 years with integrity in the United States Navy, traveling extensively throughout the United States as well as overseas. She retired from military service in 1997 with an honorable discharge. After retirement from the Navy, she continued to work as a chef in food service and property management in the Dallas metroplex area. Delores graced all she came in contact with as a role model, teaching by example and being committed to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin & Ethel Shedd, siblings; Melba Jean Shedd, Marie Brown, Clyde Shedd, Jeremiah Hunter, and niece Lakendra Brown-May.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 sons D’Artagnan Ali Shedd (April) and Melvin Alexander Royal, two grandchildren; DeAndre Shedd and LaKieya Shedd, great-grandson Hakeen Dupas, niece Adina Shedd, brother Ivill Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends.
