Deane Richardson Armstrong

She grew up in Champagne, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois. After college, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a stewardess for Capital Airlines – throughout her life; she loved reminiscing of her days of flying. She married Thomas R. Armstrong on November 22, 1952, and made wonderful family memories in both Wayne, New Jersey and in Dallas for the last 56 years. She will be remembered as someone who fiercely loved her family.

Deane was preceded in death by her husband Thomas R. Armstrong, her mother Lorene Curtis, and many aunts, cousins, and friends that she cherished. She is survived by her children John H. Armstrong and wife Paula Peters, Thomas R. Armstrong Jr., and Megan A. Sparks and her husband Allen B. Sparks. As well as, her grandchildren Connor B. Sparks and wife Laura Lee Sparks, Luke T. Sparks, and Hallie S. Oliver and husband Q Oliver; and her great granddaughter Charlotte Deans Sparks.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received for almost five years from Thea Arnold, Gloria Day, Stephanie Goff, Jacqueline Wright as well as Faith Presbyterian Hospice and her nurse Stella.

The family will hold a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Presbyterian Hospice or a charity of your choice.
