David was born in Washington, DC on November 1, 1968. He was the first child of Elias Jr. and Deborah (Jones) Nunley. He proudly bared the name of his paternal Great Grandfather, David Nunley and his maternal Grandfather, Gene Jones.
In 1986, he graduated from Southern Senior High School in Maryland. He was too smart for school so he was not there every day… After high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He married his sweetheart Shelley (Walton) and in 1998, they moved to Dallas, Texas to start a new adventure. Growing up, he always had a love for the Dallas Cowboys and he was thrilled to be living in Dallas where he could enjoy watching them in their stadium. He was an esteemed professional with a long career in commercial real estate.
He enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, and fishing. He loved to golf, he had a great short game but his long irons will need some work in Heaven.
David always put his family first. David loved spending time with his children and dogs, and loved them all dearly. He loved all of his family, and friends, and only saw the goodness in every person he met. He was kind spirited, compassionate with a loving heart, and secretively generous - he would do anything for anyone in need. He was known for his big smile, as great guy, and a friend to all. To know David was to love him.
He was proceeded in death by his Father, Elias Ray Nunley Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, five children, Rachael, Ava, Ella, Greyson and Harrison, his beloved mother Deborah Murray, step father Alfred Murray, and his siblings Tracey (Pete) Young, Christian, Matthew (Cecily), Alixandria (Aaron) Schwengler, and Olivia. He was loved by many people and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A visitation & gathering for David will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush, Dallas, TX 75252, followed by a funeral service & celebration of life from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
