David Earl McClenton was the youngest son of seven children born to the parentage of the late Elmer and Laura Ella McClenton on July 5, 1938. Being born in a Christian family David accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. David was educated in the Dallas Independent School District, he graduated from Booker T Washington High School. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force in San Antonio, Texas, where He received his basic training. Then later station at Scott AFB in Illinois where he received his Flight FAC Equip Repairman license in April 1956. Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed by Pacific Bell in Los Angeles, California and where he later retired in 1991. He was a member of Pico Arlington Christian Church. On his return to Dallas, Texas, he later united with Bethany Missionary Baptist Church until his demise. David was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and two siblings at birth. He leaves to cherish his memory and his legacy of love: his wife Mona Lisa McClenton, six children, Margaret Wills, Anthony Michaels, Regena Kay McClenton, Kay Michaels, Shannon McClenton Walton, David Earl McClenton,Jr. and his-step children: Mona Lockhart, Sharon Lockhart, Joshua Daniels and Della Daniels, one sister Alice McClenton Ferguson. He was the proud grandfather of 30 grandchildren and 26 great-grand children and a host of nephews and nieces family and friends.
