Dave was definitely one of a kind!  I was fortunate (ha-ha) to have know him since 2008 from Fellowship Bible Church.  He became our Sunday School teacher for Friends for the Journey.  I was lucky and blessed to have talked to him a week prior to his passing and was able to thank him for being my spiritual mentor.  He taught me that a christian should stand out like a sore thumb.  His thumb was really sore.  I was impressed by his coffee fellowship at 7-11 where he encountered strangers and would ask if he could pray for them.  How awesome was that! I try to emulate his humor and humility.  I am sad that he is no longer there to talk to him and tell him my jokes but look forward to the day that we will meet again.  He will be missed. He definitely fought the good fight. Amen.  Rest in peace brother.

 

Jean, no one has to tell you that Dave was a lovely man-handsome, kind and gentle. And you were his perfect complement-beautiful, loving, and sweet. I have missed you both over these years. You are in my prayers and I know the beautiful memories you have will warm your heart many times.

Dave loved his Lord very much and shared  that love with everyone who would listen. I greatly admired his wisdom and quiet strength.  He was a great Bible teacher and counselor. May God's loving presence comfort the family at this difficult time.

We had so few dinners together during the brief time David was with us here at Highland Springs but every one seemed an opportunity for David's personal kindness and wit to engage everyone at the table.  A wonderful smile, eyes that embraced you, and a depth of understanding characterized David.   Too soon gone!  We will miss all that you are.    Thanks for sharing yourself  with us.

Jean,  I'm so sorry for your loss of Dave. He was a special man called by God to share the word. I enjoyed his teachings and his kind manner. I remember visiting The Hiding Place with my family and what a great time we had with Dave 's entertaining humor and hospitality. His loving spirit with be missed by many. Take care, Bonnie Lochry

Dave, Jean, and their kids always brought fun, joy, and happy memories when we got together. Dave was sincerely a good man, and it hurts to lose him. He will be sorely missed.

We are deeply saddened upon learning of Dave's passing. But, we rejoice that he is no longer suffering and enjoying the presence of the Lord. Dave was a great teacher, role model and friend.   He was passionate about God's  Word and teaching others. Dave always had a smile on his face...always friendly and welcoming. He will truly be missed. Our prayers are with Jean and the family.

My Dad went Home to eternity with Yahweh last Sunday at 5:10 am.  He was my role model for Jesus' love, evangelism, discipleship, marriage, manhood, leadership, critical thinking, faith, discipline, perseverance, and intentional thankfulness.  I watched him for a lifetime. He grew. He matured. He loved. He never faltered. He never wavered. He followed the Lord with his whole loving heart, passionate soul, and critical mind. He loved, evangelized, discipled, and profoundly impacted and affected unknown hundreds of people (pastors, attorneys, coaches, business leaders, waiters, grocery clerks, gas station attendants, anyone and everyone who would let him) all the time, everyday, and everywhere. Hundreds will be in heaven because he listened and let Holy Spirit flow through him.

He set an aspirational example. I am proud to be his son. 

I already miss him, but know I will see him again.  Dad, I love you. See you soon...
