Daniel V. Romo, age 78 passed away on April 15, 2012, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Daniel was born on March 9, 1934 in Corsicana, TX. Daniel is preceded in death by his mother Anastacia Villareal Romo, father Isidro Jim Romo, stepmother Annie Romo, Janie Stallings, brothers Rufus Romo, Manuel Romo, children Daniel Romo Jr., Margaret Mercedes Romo, and stepson Simon Nuñez. Daniel is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mercedes N. Romo, sons Reynaldo Peter Romo and wife Kathy, Jessie Daniel Romo and wife Kari, Stepdaughter Olga Casillas, daughters Anastacia R. Navarrete and husband Armando, Teresa Puente-Ezpitia and husband Marco, Evangeline Quiñones and husband Geovani, sisters Margarita Romo, Judy Peña and husband Robert, brothers Jim D. Romo Jr., and Ricky Ray Romo, 17 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and numerous Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and Friends.
Daniel was a Korean War Veteran. He was also a devoted Knights of Columbus member for over 30 years and served as a past Grand Knight. Daniel was the founder and owner of Dan’s Landscape Service. Daniel will always be remembered for his courage, kindness, and devotion of service to the St. Augustine Parish, community, friends, and his family.
Vigil service at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 18th at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Dallas at 10 am on Thursday, April 19th. Interment with military honors will follow at 11:30 am at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas.
