Daniel Patrick Mullaney passed on September 13, 2023, at Parkland Hospital, located in Dallas, TX. Dan was 77 years old.
Dan was born on October 24,1946 in Rochester, NY, where he graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. Dan served in the United States Army. Dan married his first wife Harriet, and became a father to his daughter, Elizabeth. Following his divorce from Harriet, Dan became employed by Xerox, where he worked in general management from 1969-1994. It was during that time that he met his forever love, Teri. In 1994, Dan and Teri moved to New Brunswick, NJ, until they relocated in 1996 to Plano, TX. Dan worked at EDS as a program manager until 2005 and was the Chief Executive Officer of Prosperia, Inc., until retirement in 2007.
Dan and Teri traveled frequently together and returned to Rochester each year. Later in life, Dan also was a member of the Prestonwood Baptist Church Choir. Throughout Dan’s life, he was passionate about music, played guitar and sang. Dan was also passionate about cars and most especially, Pomeranian dogs, which he and Teri had throughout their lives, and were raised like children.
Dan is predeceased by his beloved wife Teri Lecuyer Mullaney, who passed away of breast cancer in 2019, father Richard Mullaney (2010), mother Ella Petrillo (2004), step-mother Dorothy Mullaney (2004) and brother Thomas (Tim) Mullaney (2001). He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Mullaney (Alan McGowan), brother Rick Mullaney (Kelly), sisters Kathy Mullaney and Eileen Mullaney Stair (Rod), sister-in-law Rosemarie Mullaney (Tim’s wife), father-in-law and mother-in-law Vernon and Elaine Lecuyer, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Michelle and Russ Layton. Dan is also survived by his nephew Nick Higbee (Caitlin) and nieces Becky Morrice (Chris VanOcker), Casey Mullaney, Amelia Mullaney, Amanda Mullaney, Caitie Stair, Abbie Stair (Goddaughter) and Alexis Gaus, as well as great nieces and nephew Ashley, Sabrina and Logan. Dan also leaves behind his fur "babies” Bebe and Coco, who meant the world to both he and Teri. The “babies” continue to be cared for and loved until they are reunited in Heaven.
The family would like to thank the staff of Parkland Hospital, Home Instead of Dallas, TX and especially Dan’s primary caretaker Pamela Corona, who provided amazing care to him since September 2022.
Family and friends may call Friday, October 27, 2023, at Anthony Funeral and Cremation Chapels, 1031 Ridge Road, Webster, NY 14580, from 4pm – 7pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral chapel on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10am, followed by interment at Webster Union Cemetery, 345 Webster Rd, Webster, NY 14580.
