Daniel John Conde, Jr. 69, of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was born on February 16, 1953, in Dallas, Texas to Daniel John Conde, Sr. & Mary Jane (Escamilla) Conde. Dan was raised in Dallas, Texas, the eldest of seven boys. He was a 1971 graduate of Bishop Dunne High School.
In his younger years, Dan played in a 70s rock band. He continued to have a love for music throughout his life and especially enjoyed The Doors, The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, Doobie Brothers, and Boston, to name a few. Dan had a wide variety of hobbies including collecting coins, drawing, reading, playing chess, and owned more tie-dyed shirts than he knew what to do with. He was competitive and loved strategy games. His childhood love for comic books continued into adulthood and he relished every Marvel movie that was ever produced. Later in life, he found a passion for photography and took endless photos of anything and everything. Dan loved to travel locally and across the U.S. He enjoyed countless visits to the Dallas Arboretum and the Dallas Museum of Art and loved vacationing near rivers and visiting historical landmarks. His pride and joy were his motorcycles, as he lived and breathed all things Harley-Davidson.
In his early years, Dan worked in construction and did a variety of jobs in the sound, light, and video industry. Next, he worked for Boeing until he discovered computers which prompted his long-time love for technology. In 2012, he earned his Computer Science degree from Collin County Community College. He went on to work in Quality Assurance and Computer Programming for numerous companies until his retirement from Citigroup in 2017. His love for technology became an obsession, as Dan always wanted the latest and the greatest of computers, tablets, and anything tech he could get his hands on.
He adored his wife and best friend, Deb, to whom he married on February 25, 2000, and enjoyed many trips and adventures together over the years. Dan loved his son unconditionally, he enjoyed being a father and prided himself in teaching his son many life lessons. His love for his grandchildren was unsurpassed. Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Daniel John Conde, Sr., and brother, Sebastian Conde. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Deborah (Poydence) Conde; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel T. & Shanna Conde of Sachse, Texas; grandchildren, Ian, Dimitri, Anastasia, and Zoya; mother, Mary Jane Conde of Dallas, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emmanuel & Negar Conde of Arlington, Virginia, Matthew & Ramona Conde of Clever, Missouri, Jesse & Kris Conde of Ocean View, Delaware, Mark & Lupita Conde of Dallas, Texas, and Eric & Diana Conde of Duncanville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1-5pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home.
