Crystal Joy Rose was born in Dallas, Texas to the late Odell Rose and Catheryn Price Rose on December 4, 1979. At an early age she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at age 6 at Carver Heights Baptist Church in Dallas. Later she joined Graceland Community Baptist Church, and later St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church. She was currently an active member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Bryan L. Carter is the Senior Pastor.
Crystal received her early education in Dallas at St. Peters Catholic School, St. Phillips School, St. Elizabeth Catholic School and Tyler Street Christian Academy. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from Dillard University in New Orleans in 2002. She received her Masters of Education from the University of Phoenix.
Crystal developed a passion for teaching. She touched the lives of many children at St. Phillips School, Hampton Preparatory and was currently teaching math at Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Grand Prairie. Her love for children was observed not only in the classroom but also in her community and civic involvement. She worked with the Transformation Dallas Ronald McDonald Houses and the Concord City Missions Team and fed the homeless at the Dallas International Street Church.
While attending Dillard University, Crystal became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she later served as Chapter President.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter Sidney Jewel Rose, her mother Catheryn Price Rose, brothers Reginald Carpenter, Cedric Rose, Renwick Rose, sister Nigel (Aaron) O’Neill and a host of other relatives and friends.
