Proverbs 17:17
Conner Edward Maxwell Sims
August 25, 2000 – October 1, 2017
As God so loved the world, He gave us the gift of Conner. Conner Sims’ gift of compassion and ability to invoke happiness in others defined his life as a man for others. His infectious personality, radiant smile, and gift of friendship is a loss to the community, but most of all to those who knew Conner as a friend, teammate, grandson, nephew, cousin, brother and son.
His mother, Maxine, was his steadfast advocate and teacher who believed in Conner’s ability to “set the world on fire.” His father, Craig, was his mentor and a great example of integrity and devotion. Conner was immensely proud of his role as little brother to his sister, Emily, whom he adored and revered as his confidante and best friend.
To quote Conner, “friendship has no boundaries” – a sentiment evident by the breadth and depth of his relationships. Conner’s beautiful smile and bright eyes lit up the room and created a community of brothers (and sisters) amongst his peers. Conner’s creative soul celebrated the art of a well-dressed young man who translated his stylish ways to his innocent dog, Minnie – always game for a new “dog-do.” As always, “flow and lettuce were on fleek” for Conner.
“Jesuit proud,” Conner was an avid fan of Jesuit Lacrosse and was always admired for his team spirit. Off the field, Conner’s unbridled grit and determination in the classroom were unmatched; no one worked harder and, in the halls of life, no one had more fun.
Conner is survived by his parents, Maxine Kijek Sims and Craig Sims; sister Emily; grandmother Maxi Kijek; grandparents Jan and Michael Sims; and aunts and uncles Babette Crowder, Cherie and Timothy Burggraf, and Mitzi and Anthony Hammontree. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Leo D. Kijek.
