Colleen "Kelly" Nelson Anderle

She was born on February 8, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Richard & Rose Ann (Dergan) Nelson. Kelly cherished her time growing up in Omaha, the closeness shared with family, and enjoyed the countless camping and fishing trips with them for many years. She was a 1980 graduate of Burke High School in Omaha. Kelly went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she was a proud member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Following graduation, she relocated to Dallas to begin her career.

Kelly worked as a sales representative for several years for the Mennen Company. Outside of work, she was a collector of antique glass, enjoyed home decorating, and any opportunity where she could put her creative mind to good use. With passion for interior design, Kelly and her good friend, Karen McDaniel, opened their business, The Treasure Hunt, in 2003. She loved making frequent buying trips to Mexico and helping her clients decorate their homes.

Although Kelly found joy in her work and creativity, her greatest delight in life was her family. The closeness shared with her sisters began at a birth and never ceased. After Kelly moved to the Dallas, her three sisters soon followed her so they could all be together –a rare and special gift that the four sisters treasured. Not only was she an amazing sister, Kelly was a devoted mother. She was truly “super mom”, always going above and beyond for her boys, who she would move mountains for. Kelly volunteered for countless positions for their sports’ teams, school activities, and chauffeured her sons around the city so they could seek out their passions at a young age. She was supportive, patient, and truly encompassed the qualities that someone could long for in a mother. Kelly loved going to lunch with her boys for quesadillas at Sid’s Rainbow Grill or Mena’s Grill.

Kelly was a loyal and supportive friend and relished the time spent with her sisters and girlfriends. She was a die-hard Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan and loved watching the Dallas Stars. Many summers were spent with friends and family at Brookhaven Country Club, where everyone knew and loved Kelly. Kelly cherished her faith and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church for many years. Kelly lit up a room with her positivity, beauty, and kindness from the time she entered this world and throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Kelly was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Ann Nelson. She is survived by her former husband Kevin Anderle of Dallas, Texas and their sons, Gage Anderle of Plano, Texas and Greyson Anderle of The Colony, Texas; father, Richard Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Margie (Tom) Whaley of Carrollton, Texas, Jane (Mark) Armstrong of Carrollton, Texas, and Julie (Tony) Kruse of Dallas, Texas; several nieces and nephews; longtime friend and business partner, Karen McDaniel of Carrollton, Texas; and life-long friend, Gayle Schenkenberg of Omaha, Nebraska.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 12:00pm at St. Rita Catholic Church, 12521 Inwood Rd., Dallas, TX 75244. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Bluefield Project, 637 Carolina St., San Francisco, CA 94107, https://www.bluefieldproject.org/donate/.
