We feel very blessed to have spent time with Cody and experience the wonderful person he is. 
Caring, intelligent, and just simply a positive beacon of light.

Cody came into my office on a day I was feeling down. His concern for me was unbelievable. He gave me words of encouragement and positivity. After talking to him I felt renewed. I had to go off site and when I returned this note was on my computer and I keep it there in remembrance that a kind soul who didn't know me but gave me words that encourage me everyday I come to work. It is a blessing to know you. You will always have a special place in my heart.

This doesn’t feel real. Cody was such a main character in my life while I was going through high school. He made every situation so much more fun and he really had his friends back. There was a time recently someone was being disregarding and Cody took it upon himself to stand up for me. He made people feel so seen and appreciated. 

His tragic untimely death is not only a loss to his friends but to the universe itself.

Cody, where to begin? 
 
The first thoughts that come to mind are: stubborn as a bull, ambitious, energetic, creative, capable, looking to enjoy the most life has to offer, a deal maker, a builder, the kind of person where you know that no matter where you dropped him in life, he would find the path to success, the person you want in your corner when you have to navigate any situation, someone that always has your back and always pushes you to be better. I will miss him, I regret that we only got to share the beginning of a successful and abundant life. 

Cody had an infectious smile.   He  will always be remembered for that smile and how he lit up a room as he entered any occasion .   Our brief time knowing each other left an unforgettable  memory of his effervescent personality.   Rest in peace sweet prince….         

Cody, Nick and I spontaneously drove to Florida to hangout with Mrs. Jackie and Mr. Dana! We hung out at the beach, laughed, and relaxed! Cody was so excited as you can tell to hold all the beach materials lol! 

We went to the TCU National championship and laughed about how we were wearing ear plugs! 

Went out with cody to the bars and captured this gem! He always the happiest person, his smile was contagious!

Dana & Jackie asked him to babysit him I respond by saying may I bring the family with me, the answer was yes. From that day on we were considered as a family .
My girls babysat him and his brothers.
It was an honor to be Nick’s Godmother and my husband Godfather.
Cody was always a responsible kid, helped me with there dogs and his brothers.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Cody for a few years, but the impact he made on my life in that time is something I’ll always carry with me and the example he set is one I’ll always try to live up to. 

I was lucky enough to partner with him on an e-commerce + distribution business we acquired around the time COVID hit. He believed in me and invested countless hours and his hard-earned money in an idea that met many unplanned obstacles along the way.

His unwavering belief in and commitment to me in the face of these challenges, his uncommon character and kindness, one-of-a-kind work ethic and sharp intellect on any and all topics were an example that pushed me to become a better man. 

I will deeply miss our long conversations on business, strategy, entrepreneurship, real estate and life. 

It’s exceedingly rare to come across someone that is equal parts intelligent, caring, considered, respectful, enjoys all life’s adventures and lifts up the people around them, no matter where they are or what role they are fulfilling.  

Cody embodied all of these things and more in the limited time I got to share with him. I offer my deepest condolences and strength to his Family and all who knew and loved him, and my eternal heartfelt gratitude to Cody to all he sacrificed just to give me a chance.

Such a low quality photo, for an amazing person. Cody made anyone and everyone feel welcomed! You couldn’t leave his presence without a laugh or smile on your face. He was a true gem, and a person I loved knowing in both Houston and into my time at TCU. Cody and I spent a lot of time with each other through the TCU Real Estate Club, where he served as President. He was an impeccable leader and an even better friend. I’ll never forget his charisma and love for life. I enjoyed seeing his photos over the last few years of his worldly travels. Our group of friends went to Milton’s ranch in June 2020. During the pandemic I feel like you learned who the friends that would be there with you in the toughest of times and the times when meeting up wasn’t simplest were. Cody was there, I will forever cherish this video of him and the stunning sunset. 

Freshman year at a TCU football game. Cody lived at the opposite end of the hall from Audrey Trimble Board and me in Sherley Hall. We met him through Matthew Boltz the day we moved into college. A group of guys were all coming back from a rush party and Boltz texted us to come down to Cody’s super suite. We all just chatted, getting to know each other for hours. There may have been beers involved, and we all became good friends, but I was always closest with Cody. It’s one of my favorite memories from TCU and of our friendship. Will miss him so much. 

Freshman year at a sorority mixer at the Rangers game. Cody came - as friends - as my date. While he was pledging SAE, he had me help get him out of cleaning up after a party by making me tell an active we had to study. In return, I made him come with me to this mixer because you had to bring a date to get to go. One of my favorite Busa stories. 

2021 at my birthday dinner at Hotel Drover restaurant 97 West in Fort Worth. He fought DFW traffic and showed up an hour and a half early to help my roommate decorate our private dining room. Always such a sweet heart and he truly loved his friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cody in college and we spent several years as close friends. Especially loved attending concerts and festivals together! One year he came to stay with my family and we took him to ACL with a broken leg - he never wanted to miss out and I loved that spirit. I remember what a great older brother Cody was for Nick.   Cody was a regular at Nick’s Regis games which were often at inopportune times in inconvenient places.  It meant the world to Nick.  His  best performances were when Cody was in the house.  Cody had a presence - even back then as a high schooler    A combination of hustle and grit with kindness and caring.  Engaging with people, present and connected with those around him, always making time to listen.  I guess you could call it being a Busa, because all of you have it.   Cody took the time to make life fun for my son.   Tailgating, four wheeling, money making scheming - he made sure to include his younger bro and his friends.  Special guy from a special family.   

Mr. and Mrs. Busa, please know I am praying for your whole family. I am so proud to have been Cody's and Tony's teacher. Cody's life affected the lives of so many. May he have eternal rest.

My husband Patrick and I have known Cody for the past 11 years. Cody was a pure joy. I’ve never met anyone so kind and full of love. We have so many fond memories with Cody but one I’ll never forget is how he convinced us to let him bring our cat “Kitty over to your house as a test run for having a cat (this was 10 years ago, not sure if you remember). I look back and laugh at how crazy that sounds but that was such a Cody thing to do. We miss him so much and feel the pain you are going through. We promise to honor his name by living life to the fullest.
