Clyde (Bob) Carlson, age 97, passed away on September 24, 2020. He was most proud of serving as a radio ensign on a tanker in the North Atlantic during WWII. The tanker delivered fuel to the R.A.F. for bombing runs over Germany. It was a part of numerous Navy guarded convoys that were a frequent target of German U-boats. After the war, Bob obtained his Bachelor’s in the Science of Engineering from Tri-State University and worked at Northrup, Lockheed, and the Florida Department of Transportation. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna Hoobler.
He is survived by his daughters Gwen Ellen Edgar (Terry) and Kirsten E. Carlson, and his sister Clarice Robinson.
Bob was interred with his wife Donna at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery on October 8, 2020.
