Cleo Raymond, age 101, passed away on June 3, 2024 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born June 9, 1922 in Dallas, Texas to Max and Martha Landolt. Cleo was raised in East Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1944. She married Frederick Raymond in 1951 and the couple had 2 children.
She was a professional musician who traveled all over Texas, the U.S., and the world where she played for more than 70 years. She played many times at the Sportatorium, for WRR (Bill Boyd) and the Cowboy Ramblers as well as Marvin Montgomery and band, WFAA Early Birds, and from 1946-47 she played USO camp shows in the S. Pacific.
In her spare time Cleo enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, chicken foot, and 42. She also did volunteer work in the gift shop at Charleton Methodist Hospital for more than 35 years.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a consummate professional musician and a fun and loving wife and mother.
She is preceded in death by her father, Max Landolt; mother, Martha Landolt; and husband, Fred Raymond.
She is survived by her children, Max and wife Priscilla of Hubbard, Texas; Fred and wife Kim of Atlanta, Texas; and Craig and wife Kay of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Audra (Stephen) Paschall, Chris (Amy) Raymond, Katie (Nicholas) Odlozil, Sarah Swearlingen, Rebekah (Greg) Logan, Gabriel Raymond, Craig Jr. (Monique) Raymond, and Karen (Steve) Hever; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Cleo will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
