Christene Toland

Christene Toland born on April 4, 1935 and passed away January 22, 2014. Christene worked as a loading dock clerk at Pollock Paper and was a seamstress for many years. She volunteered at the VA Hospital as part of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary where she served as the Past President of DAVA #11. She enjoyed volunteering at the Pleasant Grove Food Bank. She is preceded in death by husband, William Toland, Sr; son, William Toland, Jr. and Jerry Lynn Toland; siblings, Joe Hobgood Jr., Genell Haley, Mozell Parr, and Thomas Hobgood. Christene is survived by Hope Ruepke, Jimmy Toland, Christy Hester; grandchildren, David, Cody, Alysha, Jeremy, Amber, Amy, Drake, Macie, Abby and AJ; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, Madison, Hayden, Branson, Remington, Bob Jr., Gage and Kayden, Lexi, Sierra, and Taylor; great great grandchild, Farryn; siblings, Bentonia Jumper, Patricia Kemp, Kim Hobgood, and Doris Jean Smith. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the funeral home from 1:00-4:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, January 27, 2014 at Grove Hill Funeral home Chapel.
