Charlotte Friend

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 9643 Ferndale Road, Dallas TX 75238. A reception will be held immediately following at Knights of Columbus 10110 Shoreview Drive. Burial will be at a later date at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home.

Charlotte was born in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Mary Studzinski on July 7,1923. She graduated nursing school in the late 1940’s. She served in the Navy Nurse Corps and then worked in the pediatric unit at Little Traverse Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. She married Bob Friend, a native of Petoskey, Michigan, on January 20, 1951 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dallas, Texas. The couple raised six children. Over the years Charlotte worked at Gaston Hospital, Golden Acres nursing home and Doctors Hospital. Charlotte was a long-time member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish. She joined St. Patrick Catholic Church following the death of her husband.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Frank Studzinski, her husband of 54 years Bob, her son Mike, her granddaughter Amy Keller, and her brothers Edmund and Leon Studzinski.

Charlotte is survived by her children: John and wife Pat, Mary Friend, Mark Friend and wife Genny Landregan, Chris and wife Cindi, and Laura Mederios and husband Peter, her brother Chuck Studzinski, her grandchildren: Jason and Adam Keller, Chris and Rachel Friend, Angela Walker, John and Molly Friend, Charlotte and Barbara Friend, Adriana and Helena Mederios.

Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a consummate caregiver.
