Charles lived a long, loving and full life.
As a boy he began as a Cub Scout reaching the rank of Eagle Scout and as a young man he joined the National Guard and later enlisted into the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean War until he was honorably discharged and then later retired from the City of Austin.
Charles was a man who was loved by his wife, children and all who met him.
He enjoyed laughing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He had the love and support of his family till the end.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Petra Trevino Sorenson.
Sons: Arthur Sorenson, Steven Sorenson, Neil Sorenson, Albert Trevino and
Daughters: Laura and husband Jack Edwards, Jeanise Sorenson, Veronica (Monica) and husband Ralph Lara, Manuela (Amy) and husband Larry Casados, Brenda Goodwin, Peggy and husband Jose Arteaga, and Christi and husband Jose Mandujano; 34-grandchildren and 19-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Jim and wife Kathy Sorenson, and sister Anna and husband Don Woodman.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 3, 2016, from 4pm-8pm with the Holy Rosary recited at 6pm.
Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 2:00pm in the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Cemetery with committal to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
