Charles "Ray" Jones

Charles Ray was born in Ajo, AZ, September 13, 1929, to Lilburn William and Fannie (Dugger) Jones. After his birth, they made their way to Dallas, TX. Ray graduated from Hillcrest High school in Dallas. After graduation he went to work for Dr. Pepper as a driver and salesman. He was drafted into the Army in January of 1951 and served our country until January 1953. While still in the Army, Ray met Barbara Carter, and they married May 16, 1953, and were married for 59 years. He spent 37 years working for Lone Star Gas Company, and went on to start his own HVAC company and worked another 17 years. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, and his brother, L.W. Jones, Jr. Ray is survived by his daughter, Debbie Lewis and husband, Dan; grandson, Alan Harris and his wife, Joni; great-grandchildren, Alanna and Sebastian Harris; granddaughter, Joy Davis and her husband, Neil; great-grandson, Daniel; sister, Sharon Nettle; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Ray will truly be missed.

A visitation for Charles will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
