Born August 3, 1926 in Wade Oklahoma and died April 1, 2014. Mother, Veda Smith Howard, Father Charles Milburn Howard. Preceded in death by granddaughter Erin Komp, brother L.D. Howard, mother and father and stepfather Bill McDonald. Survived by wife, Margie Kirk Howard, son Michael Howard and wife Chana, daughter Debbie Komp, 5 grandchildren Shawn Boland wife Christi, Kevin Komp, Stephen Howard, Sarah Howard and 3 great grandchildren, Carsen Shatto, Cameron Shatto and Colby Boland. Also survived by sister-in-laws Jody Howard and Norma Dobbs, cousins Kathy Polland and Nadine Hanner. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles grew up in Bokchito, Okla. And left the day after graduation for the Army. He was in the Philippines when the atomic bomb was dropped in Japan and was shipped out on one of the first ships to arrive in Japan. He came home to work for Rockwell International, where he retired after 35 years. After retiring from Rockwell he bought a ranch in Oklahoma where he raised Black Angus cattle which he loved. He often said he wished he had been a rancher in his earlier life.
