Charles grew up in Iowa, Louisiana where his father supervised an oil field for Shell. He attended College at Southeast Louisiana College; IBM recruited him into their customer engineering program one semester before he graduated. He left IBM when he was called into ministry and pastored churches in DeSoto, Grand Saline, Beaumont, and Carthage. He then returned to Dallas where he accepted a position with the Dallas County Hospital District; when he retired, he was Supervisor of Preventative Maintenance at Parkland Hospital.
He was an active member of his beloved church, Hickory Creek Baptist Church, and had a heart for Israel. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed meeting people, sharing the gospel, was an avid player of cards & dominoes, fishing, travel, whittling, writing fun poems, and singing; many times making up his own lyrics. He had an unfailing sense of humor, and truly loved the many people he met on his life journey.
Our family would like to thank the many friends and “Charlie’s Angels” at Carriage House Assisted Living and Three Oaks Hospice for the gracious and loving care they gave to our beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
