Charles Denal Crider passed peacefully on July 13th, 2023, in Mesquite, TX. He was 87 years old. Den is survived by his son, C. Kirk Crider of Garland, TX; sisters in law Mary-Nell Lloyd (Charles) of Stamps, AR, and Hazel Langston (Billy Joe) of Prescott AR; his grandchildren: Trenton, Trinity, Aiden, and Abel Crider (mom Shannan) of Rowlett, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Eyvonne Barham Crider, of 57 years and his parents, Freeman and Martha Crider.
Den was born on August 10th, 1935, in Prescott, AR. He graduated from Blevins High School in 1953. He soon joined the U.S. Air Force and served honorably for 3 years as an avionics technician. He then went on to work for E Systems, which later became Raytheon, working as an avionics technician for most of his life. While not in the service during the Vietnam War, he worked in Vietnam and the surrounding areas as a civilian contractor providing and maintaining mission critical equipment. In his retirement years, he worked as a security officer for various companies. He served the Lord faithfully all his life, including as a deacon at New Haven Baptist Church for many years, where he also taught a Sunday School class. He was a great storyteller and would tell jokes to anyone who would listen. He loved to work, but also enjoyed watching football, playing Solitaire, listening to Southern Gospel, and spending time with his family.
A celebration of life service for Den is scheduled for 11:30am on August 2nd at New Haven Missionary Baptist Church located at 10110 Rylie Rd., Dallas, TX 75217. Internment with military honors will be conducted at DFW National Cemetery. The viewing will be from 5pm to 8pm on August 1st at Sparkman-Crane located at 10501 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX, 75218. Arrangements are being overseen by Sparkman- Crane in Dallas, Texas.
