Chad Buford Starks, age 75, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 22, 1947. Chad was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Bryan Adams High School and UT Austin. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972 and married Iris Starks in 1992 and worked as an R.N. in several areas of nursing.
Chad loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was saved at an early age and baptized in 1992. He enjoyed bible study and attending worship services. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas for many years. As his health failed, he needed to attend closer to home, and enjoyed attending services at Lakepointe Church White Rock Campus as he was able to do so. He loved being able to see live worship services online on Sunday mornings.
He was a member of the Texas Longhorn Band and a devoted fan of Longhorn football. After retirement, Chad volunteered at the Dallas VA Medical Center for ten years. He loved Boy Scouts, playing baseball and music of all types.
Chad was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dr. Chad and Mrs. Ruth Starks.
He never complained about his health challenges and his faith and beliefs sustained him to the very end of his life.
Chad is survived by his wife, Iris. Those who wish to donate in memory of Chad may wish to consider the North Texas Food Bank, SPCA, or the charity of your choice.
