He was born in Kemp Texas, March 4,1937, and grew up in West Dallas, where he became known as Morro to everyone. His favorite pastimes were playing the guitar, watching the Texas Rangers play baseball, eating sweets and scraping metals.
Casimiro was a simple man with an extraordinary life.
Casimiro would talk about everything and anything, but loved bringing the word of God to anyone willing to listen. Casimiro felt this was his purpose on earth and continued to preach his teachings up until his passing.
Casimiro met Gregoria and bonded over their mutual love for dancing, music, and eventually serving The Lord. They continued to share this throughout their long and happy marriage of 60 years. Casimiro was a parish member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church for many years, in which he raised his children, made many life long friends, played guitar for the children’s mass, taught CCD, in addition to many other services he did in the name of The Lord.
In his early years, Casimiro worked for El Fenix as a dishwasher at the age of 14. He went to work for the city of Dallas water department, but developed a passion for welding where he started a career in auto bumpers, chrome, and plating. He became known as the Cadillac Man in Dallas for his specialized craft in Cadillac bumpers. This name would stick with him throughout his career. He also was involved in the bumper sculpture on display at Dallas Fair Park and Grand Prairie Wax Museum. In his retired years, he took a job with the City Of Mesquite as a Crossing Guard where the children would refer to him as Mr. Cass, the crossing guard.
He leaves behind his 7 children Rosa Linda Gonzalez, Nancy Kirkbride, Alexander Ybarra, Luci Guzman, Robert Ybarra, Frances Garcia and Michelle Ybarra, and three siblings, Estella Ybarra, Beatrice Ybarra and Pedro Ybar
ra. Casimiro had 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephew, and several Godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gregoria Ybarra, mother Sara Ybarra, father Bernardino Ybarra, one grandson Joe Arthur Gonzalez Jr., brothers Louis Ybarra, Larry Ybarra, Gilberto Ybarra, Jimmy Ybarra, sisters Juanna Hernandez, Rebecca Ybarra, Irene Regalado Ybarra, Maria Rojas, and Margarita Ybarra.
The funeral will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, September 23, 2023 at 2 pm and. All friends and family are welcome.
