Carolyn was born in Dallas on August 11, 1927, to banker William O. Stevens and Ruth Coffin Stevens. She died on October 19, 2012. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents; brother, William O. Stevens III; brother-in-law Jack McClendon; and sisters-in-law, Genevieve Majors McClendon and Margaret Jalonick Majors. Carolyn graduated from Highland Park High School, attended Lindenwood College and the University of Texas where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was a member of the Dallas Junior League, the Dallas Slipper Club and the Dallas Country Club. Carolyn was a talented bridge player who became a Life Master and served on the Board of Directors for the Dallas unit of the American Contract Bridge League. Carolyn is survived by her husband, William Harcourt Majors; daughter, Linda Majors Kassebaum and her husband Alan; granddaughter, Carolyn Majors Johnson; Alan’s daughters, Jennifer Gutierrez and Jessica Near; brother-in-law, John A. Majors, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the loving care given by LaDonna, Evelyn, Bobby and Katie. Carolyn was especially grateful for her friendship with LaDonna. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
