ADD: Her love of music expanded diverse genres such as R&B, Gospel, Classical, Jazz to Charlie Pride, and Hank Williams, Jr. Carolyn was a woman of faith and a member of Munger Avenue Baptist Church before moving her membership to Concord Baptist Church.
Professionally … Carolyn dedicated her life in leadership to serving others through her work at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, the Veterans Administration of Dallas, the Dallas Police Department, the Dallas Housing Authority, and the Tulsa Housing Authority. After her dedicated service, she retired with honor from the Internal Revenue Service.
Beyond her career and musical talents, Carolyn was an avid reader who enjoyed reading about her ancestral heritage, especially the Harlem Renaissance era. Carolyn was also creative and enjoyed crocheting, a skill she learned from her father. She lovingly made and gifted Afghans, scarves, and even pet clothes to her friends and family. Carolyn’s love for pets extended to being a pet dog mom to Princess, Amber, Chloe, and pet grandma to Duke, and most recently Mocha.
