Carolyn Weaver Carter, born on July 25, 1930 passed away peacefully on July 11, 2010. A third generation Dallasite, Carolyn attended North Dallas High School and Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta before marrying her best friend and the love of her life J. Robert Carter, Jr. She expressed great joy in reuniting with Bob who died thirty years ago and her precious baby daughter Mary lost during childbirth. Carolyn was an active civic and community volunteer serving as a member of the Junior League of Dallas for fifteen years and on the Crystal Charity Ball Committee for twenty-seven years. She is currently a member of the Dallas Country Club and the Dallas Woman’s Club. Carolyn is survived by her children Susan Carter Johns and Bob Carter, their spouses Wayne and Jennifer; her precious grandchildren who brought more love and joy than comprehensible Robert, Cassie, and Shannon Carter; and her step-grandchildren Charisse Johns and Marc Jimeson. She is also survived by her baby brother whom she loved with all her heart Luther Ben Weaver, by her sidekick and sister-in-law Marjorie Carter Lacy, eight beautiful nieces and nephews, two very special friends who loved and cared for her Annie Makula and Becky Okray; and an incredible cadre of life-long friends she considered to be the greatest gifts in her life. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel.
