Carol Ann Schultz, age 76, passed away, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, Texas. Carol was born November 16, 1946 in Dallas to Willard & Marguerite (Cassata) Schultz. It was their delight and blessing to have a child, after World War II. Carol was the only child that really knew the Cassata grandparents, and she brought them much joy.
Carol’s family attended Saint Thomas Aquinas parish. She was a student at St. Thomas and continued on to Bishop Dunne High School. Carol felt the calling to enter the convent and at age 15 left Dallas and went to the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Des Plaines, Illinois. Carol was a nun for 25 years. She enjoyed teaching music at St. Luke’s in Irving, and at St. Thomas.
At the age of 40, Carol left the convent. She worked for the Dallas Opera and concluded her career as Business Administrator at Saint Jude Chapel in downtown Dallas. The church was the foundation of her life. She was never late to make sure the church doors were open on time every day at the Chapel. Carol will be remembered as a cheerful, positive, generous individual.
Carol is survived by her sister, Mary Truss, brother-in-law, Tom Truss, nephew, Michael Truss (Elizabeth), niece, Diana Gomez (Rico) and four great-nieces, Lilly, Margaret, Lorelai, and Reese.
To God be the Glory!
