Catherine was born on June 14, 1956, to Ernest Louis Ferdinand, a chauffeur, and Annette Bylon, a medical assistant in New York City. She graduated from High School in 1974 and went on to study Management at Johnson & Wales. Catherine later obtained her Master’s Degree in Procurement & Contract Management from the University of Maryland and went on to end her successful career as procurement professional for ATOS.
Catherine was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and dedicated much of her time to volunteering for Catholic Charities, Stephen Ministry and St. Vincent De Paul.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Catherine loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, Latin and Jazz music and her Nissan 300ZX. She was a talented photographer and business writer. Catherine was a tremendous source of strength and guidance for all those who knew her.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Mike Garcia, daughter and son-in-law Erica and Andre Lewis, her sisters Dr. Danielle Young and Jeanine Saithsoothane, step-children Justin, Brandon and Kristin. Ten grandchildren: Nathan, Noah, Nixon, Elise, Noah, Michael, Devon, Gaige, Gunner and Garrand.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 17th, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 600 S Jupiter Road, Richardson, TX, 75081, at 9:30am. Condolences may be sent to 2120 Monticello Circle, Plano TX 75075.
