On Saturday, July 2, 2016 we said goodbye to our beloved Bunny. What an indomitable spirit! Bunny lived both as perhaps the kindest soul and the strongest woman we ever knew. She will be missed terribly by many, but by none more heartfeltly than her husband Jim. Their love affair spanned some 70 years, solid as rock. Bunny possessed a magnificent ability to accept others as they were, love them fully, and hold confidences beyond measure. Proud of her Dekko roots, she loved and cherished her family deeply. Perhaps most of all, Bunny was as grateful for the blessings life offered as she was gracious in her acceptance of its challenges.
Bunny is preceded in death by her parents Clara and Edward Dekko, brothers Chet and Stanton, and sister Adeline. She is survived by her husband Jim, sisters Evie, Sherry, and Karen, sons Jim (Patricia) and Jeff (Mari), grandchildren Leslie (Tod), Jimmy, Patrick and Jeffrey, great-grand-children Ella and Clara, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Chapel at 7405 W. Northwest Highway in Dallas at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Compass Housing Alliance, Dekko Fund, 77 S. Washington St, Seattle, WA, 98104, http://www.compasshousingalliance.org/ Online condolences may be made at www.Sparkman/Hillcrest.com.
