Brenda Joyce Fowler

Brenda Joyce Fowler passed peacefully from this earth at the age of 75 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. She was born May 29, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas to Inez J. Thompson and Wayne Hawthorne but was adopted and raised by "Mama" Katie Darnell who Brenda loved and adored. Brenda was raised in Fort Worth and Dallas and graduated from Booker T. Washington in 1963 and married MJ Fowler in 1968. She was a hairstylist by trade at numerous high fashion styling establishments where she worked for more than 45 years.

In her spare time Brenda enjoyed styling hair, shopping and modeling fashion, doll and figurine collecting and Puff Puff. Her family and friends will always remember her as a fashionista who had an eye for fashion.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Charlotte Spelmon, Janice Montgomery, Freddie Mitchell, and Willie Gray and five brothers, Jimmie Montgomery, Frankie Montgomery, Author Montgomery, Johnnie Thompson and J. Evans. Left to cherish her memory three daughters, Katy Fowler, Felicia Fowler and Curticia Jones; two sons, Michael Fowler and M.J Fowler, Jr III and brother, Elliott Montgomery.
