Mrs. Bonnie Mae Smith, age 84, died of natural causes on November 23, 2022, in the comfort of her family home in Dallas, Texas. She was born on June 8, 1938, in Carthage, Texas to Dall and Bonnie Lewis Jordan. Bonnie graduated from Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas in 1956, and accepted a position with Sky Chef where she worked for more than ten (10) years.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of sixty-five (65) years, Mr. Jurel Smith, Sr, her daughter Vickey Wilhite (Donald) of DeSoto, Tx, her son Jurel Smith (Juanita) of Plano, TX, her brother Harold James, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dall and Bonnie Lewis Jordan, seven (7) brothers, and five (5) sisters [and one granddaughter.
Bonnie was a socially active woman who deeply loved the Lord, her family, and her community. She was involved in the church choir for most of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Bonne’s family and friends will always remember her as a classy and fun-loving woman of God with a heart of gold and a million-dollar smile.
A visitation for Bonnie will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A committal service will occur Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Laurel Land Mem Park - Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232.
