Bobbie Rene Giles Dabbs was born on June 3, 1942 in Geneva, Texas to the union of the late Hillard and the late Elree Hicks-Giles. She accepted Christ at a very young age. Her desire to see the world lead her to leave East Texas traveling to Portland, Oregon and on that journey in 1964 she met her soulmate, Roy Dabbs in Dallas, Texas where a new journey began. They were united in Holy Matrimony on December 19, 1964 and from this union they shared two sons Darryl (Dallas, TX) and Derek (New Orleans, LA). Bobbie was employed and retired from Nardis of Dallas House of Gold Apparel Company where she was a seamstress. After retiring in 1974, she started her own business of designing and selling ladies clothing and upholstery. She designed and decorated many homes throughout the state of Texas. Bobbie and family became members of Greater Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in 1985 where she was a faithful member and served as President of the Deaconess Board. Bobbie was preceded in death by her grandparents Buster and Ida Hicks and brother, James A. Washington, Sr. She leaves to cherish precious memories, husband, Roy Dabbs, their sons, Darryl Dabbs(Donna) of Dallas, TX, Derek Dabbs of New Orleans, LA; two grandsons Drew and Drake Dabbs of Dallas, TX; sisters, Edna Tutt (Lester), Linda Wade, Elma Washington all of Lufkin, TX; brothers, Larry and Tommy Washington both of Milam, TX, Ricky Washington (Paulette) of Shelbyville, TX, two great uncles Enner Hicks and George Hicks both of San Augustine, TX. Bobbie is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
