There will be a rosary at 10 am followed by the mass at 10:30 am on December 10, 2020, at Christ the King Catholic Church. After the mass, Blanca. Cerezo’s ashes will be taken to Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett and inurned in the Chapel, along with that of her husband, Ruben S. Cerezo.
Blanca S. Cerezo was born in Bogota, Colombia to Maria Elisa Bernal and Dr. Olimpo Galindo. She married Ruben S. Cerezo on December 10, 1966 in Chicago. They were married for 46 years, until Ruben passed away in 2013. She is survived by Sonia A. Cerezo her only child.
Blanca lived in Bogota, Mexico City, Chicago and the Dallas metroplex. She was an ESL professor, she received her teaching certificate from Cambridge University. She was also very active in the Chamber of Commerce in Rockwall, while she and her husband had a business. She was active in the Catholic Church, and was a member of the jail ministry, Legion of Mary, Eucharistic Ministers, Hispanic Community and other civic organizations. She was also a devotee and patron of the arts.
Her daughter wishes to thank the support of family in Chicago, and friends in Dallas. A special thank you to Fr. Anthony Lackland for allowing the Mass to be celebrated at Christ the King and Deacon John Kelly for assisting with the arrangements. And with much gratitude to Fr. Michal Markiewicz for celebrating the mass and for his constant support, care and ministry to Mrs. Cerezo since July 2018.
