Bill is one of the veterinarians - and men - I admired most in my life.   I worked with him as a Technical Services Veterinarian for The Iams Company from 1993 until his retirement in 1999.   We kept in touch sporadically since then, most recently in early 2022.  We had a small, close knit group, and Bill was our glue.   He was sharp, helpful and fun.  His stories, told in his Texas drawl, made us laugh till it hurt.   I can see him telling them now in heaven.

Dr. Lilly was my mentor when I graduated from veterinary school and came to work for him in Las Vegas. When he elected to return to school and study veterinary ophthalmology he offered to sell me Paradise Pet Hospital. I had no money and he carried the note for me to buy it. He was a great veterinarian and mentored many. He was a great father and I’ll always remember him. RIP Bill.

Expressing deep appreciation for the United States Coast Guard Service of  Engr 2nd Class Billy James Lilly for our nation. Prayers are ascending to heaven for comfort for his family and many friends in their loss. May he rest in his new “heavenly deployment” with his Lord and preceding loved ones.
