SGM. Billie Eugene Harris, (91), passed away (December 10,2024). He was born in Dallas, Texas (MAY 5, 1933) to Benjamin and Cora Harris. He attended Forest Avenue High School and graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and later joined the Military Airforce in (1978). In (1982) he transitioned to the United States Army Reserves – (USAR) 807TH MEDCOM Unit where he retired in (2000) under the title of Sergeant Major. As a civilian he continued his career as a government employee Facility Manager under 807TH MEDCOM unit from (1987) to final retirement in (2010). Throughout his military career journey, he received many awards, certificates and recognition for his dedication of service.
Billie was known for his hard work ethics during an era that required him to learn at a very young age. The lessons of endurance taught him to work hard, make do with what he had giving thanks to God and surviving life’s challenges. He carried those attributes throughout his life’s journey.
He is survived by his loving wife of (54yrs.) Catherine Harris, daughter, stepson, nieces, nephew, a host of extended family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
